This is a knitting pattern for a lovely, DIY hanging ornament. The brightly colored ornament sweater is knitted right onto a glass or plastic ornament. This results in a beautifully shaped decoration! The suggested yarn has mohair in it, and so it is super soft and fuzzy. This fuzziness creates the illusion that the ornament is glowing from within! This ornament is lightweight, and hangs beautifully on the tree. This easy project is a blast to knit up, and only takes a short while to make. The finished ornament sweater is not removable, and it securely hugs the beautiful shape of the plastic ornament. The ornament sweater shows off an attractive spiral on the bottom, which is created by a simple series of K2tog decreases. The best part is, this ornament sweater is entirely seamless!
This pattern makes a wonderful housewarming/Christmas gift that will be pulled out and admired for many years to come. The plastic ornament is available on Amazon as well as on Etsy, and runs about $1.99 per piece. For this pattern, I suggest that you use plastic ornaments as apposed to glass ones because the plastic ornaments are shatter-proof.
