Boomerang Cowl
A wonderful cowl to go with my favorite tam! Based on fish scale lace, this pattern that is both easy to memorize and stunning in execution. Whether you make a long loopy infinity scarf or a close-to-the-neck cowl, whether you choose to block it or not, the result will certainly please. This pattern also works great with both smooth yarns and those with a halo, with solid colors and variegated. I genuinely hope you enjoy this one – I know I do!
Materials (Given for a short cowl)
- About 180 yards worsted weight yarn for the short version, 280 for the long
- US 8 needle (either a 16” circular (24” for the long) or dpns)
Pattern Notes
This pattern is easily adaptable to any weight yarn by casting on any multiple of seventeen. The total number of sts you CO may obviously change the yardage requirements and the ribbing pattern for the brim of the cowl. I’ve had great success using just 110 yards of sportweight yarn and US 8 needles or 100 yards of bulky weight yarn and US 11 needles! Dk weight works great too!
